The sixth annual uMgungundlovu Film Festival (UFF) will be exploring spiritual awakening through cinema in Pietermaritzburg from November 15 to November 17, between 9am and 5pm on all three days.
The organisers are hoping that the various film screenings, workshops and masterclasses will ignite thought-provoking discussions and introspection amongst the participants in the event.
Festival spokesperson, Naomi Mokhele, said that over the past few years, the festival has played a pivotal role in connecting and nurturing filmmaking talent across KwaZulu-Natal through collaborations with arts schools and local municipalities.
She added that the UFF had also had an economic impact on the local community through job creation and skills transfer and it played a key role in promoting tourism and cultural exchange, in addition to contributing to film education and training.
